Pier 7 Restaurant

Located in the Shipyards District, the Pier 7 Restaurant + Bar is a North Vancouver restaurant that specializes in seafood and beautiful waterfront views.

Pier 7 is a great place for lunch, dinner, brunch and drinks, especially on the patio on warm sunny days. The restaurant serves excellent food and has some of the best views in the region.

Restaurants related to the Pier 7 include The Lobby (also in North Vancouver’s Shipyards District), Tutto (which is a great Italian place in Yaletown), and the P2B Bistro (which is at the Pinnacle Harbourfront Hotel in downtown Vancouver).

Pier 7 Restaurant + Bar in North Vancouver

Pier 7 is an upscale seafood restaurant and bar situated right on the North Shore waterfront. Although the restaurant is in a stand-alone building, Pier 7 is related to the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier and The Lobby Restaurant which are on the other side of Shipbuilders’ Square just a 60-second walk away. In fact, the hotel and both restaurants are owned by the same local company.

The Pier 7 restaurant offers stunning views of Vancouver’s skyline from the Shipyards District. When we visited for lunch recently, we sat at a corner table inside, facing south towards downtown Vancouver. Tall windows provide natural light and scenery. Our table was flooded with sun. We had an unobsructed view of the ocean, Vancouver’s downtown skyscrapers, seaplanes landing every few minutes and the majestic cruiser liners berthed at Canada Place across from the North Shore.

Pier 7 also has a very popular covered outdoor patio that’s heated during cooler times of the year. In the summer, there is live music on three or so evenings per week. The restaurant also has seating upstairs for even more beautiful views. Dining upstairs, though, is open only from 6:00 pm onwards

Location and Hours

Pier 7 Restaurant + Bar is located at 25 Wallace Mews in North Vancouver. It’s in the heart of the city’s cultural and entertainment district. The restaurant is right by Shipbuilders’ Square, the Burrard Drydock Pier, and Shipyard Commons. It’s also just steps away from the Pinnacle at the Pier Hotel.

The restaurant typically opens at 11:30 am on weekdays and at 10:30 am on weekends. It usually remains open until late, especially in the summer, sometimes only closing at around midnight.

In the photo below, the Pier 7 Restaurant is the building at the top of the dock facility just to the left of the yellow shipbuilding crane. As you can probably tell, the views from the restaurant are amazing.

Menu Descriptions

Pier 7 specializes in seafood, but the restaurant also offers all sorts of other dishes along with a fully stocked bar. Short descriptions of each menu are below.

Brunch, Lunch and Dinner

Brunch at Pier 7 is available on weekends and holidays. It usually runs from 10:30 am until 2:00 pm. There are breakfast classics like seafood benedict dishes, waffles, pancakes and more. Also available are things like breakfast poutine and steak.

Pier 7 has one menu for both the afternoon and evening. There are several starters and sharing plates, including clams, mussels and seafood chowder. Various salads are offered as well. There are salmon, chicken and plant-based burgers served with fries. Other main dishes include blackened salmon with grilled prawns, steak with lobster, fish and chips, and more.

One of us had mussels which came in a delicious white wine sauce. They were really good! Another in our party had tiger prawns as a starter, served on a bed of ice, a wedge of lemon, and a dipping cocktail sauce. That too was really nice. We also had the burrata (cheese) appetizer, which was amazing. As well, we really enjoyed the blackened salmon and prawns. Everything we’ve had at Pier 7 has always been excellent.

It costs $49 and allows guests to choose one of three starters, one of three entrées and one of two desserts. Options include broiled oyster trio, blackened chicken, prawn spaghettini, New York style cheesecake and keylime pie, to name but a few. For what you get, this is a really good deal when it’s available. For full details visit the Pier 7 website.

Happy Hour also runs daily from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Select starters, mains and drinks are on special between these times.

Desserts and Drinks

The Pier 7 dessert menu features cheesecake, ice cream, Tiramisu, keylime pie, chocolate lava cake and more. Our party had the chocolate lava cake, Tiramisu and New York style cheesecake, and all were divine! Click Dessert at Pier 7 to check out the full menu.

There are also plenty of red and white wines available by glass or by bottle. The restaurant offers both cocktails and mocktails, plus special signature drinks like Pier 7 Soda, Summer Sunset, Peach Tequila Sour and more. One of us enjoyed a deliciously chilled espresso martini. Various beers and ciders are also available.
